Our platform is open to any licenced producer who can export cannabis to Europe. It is essential that it fulfils the strict German and European quality standards for medicinal cannabis. All of our cultivation partners are put through an in depth auditing process – ensuring strict compliance across every step in the cultivation process. Checklists and other documents for this process were specially developed by Cantourage and closely coordinated with the responsible authorities in Germany. As a result, patients receive cannabis flowers as high-quality medicinal products that meet all regulatory requirements.

Sending cannabis around the world is not easy. In close coordination with our cultivation partners, we coordinate the obtaining of import and export permits and advise them on all issues that may arise - from the correct transport packaging to the choice of the logistics company. Once in Germany, the cannabis is produced into a medicinal product in our highly secured and climatically controlled storage facilities.

The essential manufacturing steps for cannabis medicinal products take place in an EU GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified production facility in Germany. Every single cannabis flower is carefully inspected before being processed. If necessary, we reduce the naturally occurring microbial load of the cannabis flowers below the permissible limits for medicinal products using a germ reduction process developed in-house. We do not use ionising radiation, which helps to protect the terpenes and active substances in the plant. Quality controls and laboratory analyses at various points along the production process ensure the reliable pharmaceutical quality of the end product. Patients can thus concentrate fully on their therapy and do not have to worry about the quality of the medicines.

Via pharmacies, wholesalers or by export to other European countries: With a network of long standing partners, we ensure that patients throughout Europe can be supplied with high quality cannabis as efficiently as possible. Again, of course, we follow the official regulations for the safe transport of our cannabis medicines.

Dronabinol stands for (-)-trans-Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC. What many people don't know: In medical practice, dronabinol has been used in Germany for over 20 years to treat various diseases such as chronic pain. And yet, until a few years ago, there was only one supplier of dronabinol in this country. Monopolies are never good. Therefore, we have broken it up. Cantourage's dronabinol was the first product in our range in spring 2020. The result: since entering the market, the price of dronabinol has fallen by more than 50 percent. Why does this affect and help us all? Because the costs for dronabinol medicines are nearly always covered by health insurance. With an annual volume of almost 100 kilograms of dronabinol, this results in savings of over 17 million euros per year for the German health system. Mission accomplished.

Besides the lack of competition, we were particularly concerned about the lack of innovation in the dronabinol market. Especially because the production of dronabinol medicines in pharmacies has always been very time-consuming: heating, diluting with excipients, filling into a dispensing container for patients - a lengthy and error-prone procedure. Since spring 2022, this has come to an end: with Cantourage's dronabinol solution, after the quality check, the pharmacy does not have to do anything more than decant the quantity indicated on the prescription into a patient container and seal it. All excipients are already included here. In addition to the reduced costs, dronabinol can now also be processed in a fraction of the time previously required. The success proves us right: just a few months after the market launch, more than one in five dronabinol preparations in Germany is processed with the help of the solution - and the trend is rising sharply!

No, we don't sell CBD aromatic oils and cosmetics. We supply patients all over Europe with pharma grade cannabidiol and thus help them in the treatment of numerous complaints. Cannabidiol does not have a psychoactive effect and is, by the way, often used in therapies for children. Full cannabis extracts complete our all-round offer in the field of cannabinoid therapies.
